India Dominates Zimbabwe to Clinch T20I Series 4-1: Samson, Mukesh Shine in Final Match
India wrapped up their T20I series against Zimbabwe with a commanding 42-run victory in the fifth and final match held in Harare, securing the series 4-1. The match saw standout performances from Sanju Samson and Mukesh Kumar.
After being put to bat, India posted a total of 167 for 6, thanks to Samson's gritty half-century. He scored 58 off 45 balls, supported by Shivam Dube's quickfire 26 off 12 balls. Blessing Muzarabani was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe, taking 2 for 19 in his four overs.
Zimbabwe's chase started promisingly but soon faltered as Mukesh Kumar delivered his career-best T20I figures of 4 for 22, dismantling the Zimbabwean batting lineup. Despite strong efforts from Dion Myers (34) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (27), Zimbabwe was bowled out for 125 in 18.3 overs.
India's bowling attack, led by Mukesh Kumar, Shivam Dube, and Washington Sundar, ensured that Zimbabwe never recovered after losing early wickets. Sundar, who claimed the Player-of-the-Series award for his consistent performance, played a crucial role in controlling the middle overs.
This victory marked India's fourth consecutive win in the series, showcasing their ability to bounce back strongly after losing the series opener.
